Fat Elephant Records isn't just a record store—it's a place where music lovers come together in Historic Folsom. We host a rotating line up of live shows, open mics, and exclusive label listening parties that bring people together over great sound and good vibes. Every month, Fat Elephant Records features two to three bands per night, blending local talent, regional acts, and touring artists across genres. Most of our events are free, though some may have a small cover to directly support the artists—any fees are always clearly posted in advance on our website and socials.

 

Our monthly Open Mic Night, typically held on the last Wednesday of each month, welcomes everyone from first timers to seasoned pros—musicians, poets, comedians, and performers of all kinds—in a supportive, low-pressure setting. Dates and sign -ups are shared online.

 

We also partner with major and independent record labels for exclusive album listening parties, giving you early access to highly anticipated releases before they drop—complete with promo items, giveaways, posters, and collectibles straight from the labels. Recent highlights include a packed listening party for Morrissey's latest release, and we've got more exciting events lined up in the coming months. Hope to see you at one of our events.
