Originally released on A&M in 1978 and later reissued by Kingston Sounds in 2018, Hail Dread is the vibrant debut from Kingston’s roots reggae ensemble Knowledge, produced by Tapper Zukie. These musicians, hailing from Trench Town’s Rema district, deliver spiritually charged vocals over deep roots rhythms—imbued with social consciousness, dub influences, and melodic harmonies that capture the spirit of late-’70s Jamaican reggae  .
