Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black is her legendary second (and final) studio album, released on October 27, 2006 by Island Records  . This album draws from the spirit of 1960s girl-group soul and blends it with contemporary R&B, neo-soul, and jazz, resulting in a unique retro-modern sound guided by producers Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson  .

A deeply personal break-up album, its songs were penned in the aftermath of a turbulent separation from then-boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil, giving the record raw emotional weight and lyrical honesty  .
